On March 23, 2006 there was held the City Competition on MESE in the framework of Junior Achievement program.
The competition was organized and conducted by the Vladivostok Committee of Education, Junior Achievement Primorsky Regional Center, Far Eastern Center for Economic Education and school 22 of Vladivostok.
There were invited a lot of guests including:
- Daniel Hastings, vice-consul on educational and cultural affairs, US Consulate General, Vladivostok;
- Chizhova Lyudmila Ivanovna, Vladivostok Committee of Education;
- Abramov Alexander Lvovich, deputy director of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of Far Eastern National University;
- Davidov Denis Vitalyevich, chief economist of the Far Eastern Center of Economic Development;
- Bochkarev Denis Yuryevich, Department of Agriculture of Primorsky Krai Administration;
- representatives of many schools of Vladivostok (57, 33, 35, 74, 72, 22, MUKiVT, FENU College).
Goals of the Competition:
- Determine how well school students acquire Applied Economics course;
- Contribute to mutual exchanges of experience and establishment of contacts between teachers and students of different schools;
- After successful participation in the City MESE Competition participate in the All-Russian Competition MESE Cup-2006.
Totally, 8 teams of 9-11-grade students participated in the City Competition on MESE.
The winners of the Competition were Sidorenko Ilya and Remenyuk Evgeny - students from school 22 of Vladivostok.
Students from the College of Far Eastern National University - Bezruk Dmitry, Zhury Evgeny, and Pyrkov Mikhail, Makarenko Mikhail, took t he second and third places
The winners of the City MESE Competition, Ilya and Evgeny, took part in the All-Russian on-line MESE Competition , and took the third place .
Currently, this team takes part in the International MESE Competition - Hewlett Packard Global Business Challenge . The three rounds of the International MESE Competition are held on-line, the fourth round (in August 2006) will be held in Palo Alto, California, USA.
To pass to the next round the team is to take the first place in their group. Good luck, guys! |
