National Council on Economic Education

NCEE is a unique nonprofit partnership of leaders in education, business and labor devoted to helping youngsters learn to think, to choose and to function in a changing global economy.

NCEE was founded in 1949, and today it is the premier source of teacher training and materials used to instill an understanding of economic principles for grades kindergarten through twelve.

NCEE is a nationwide network of state councils and over 260 university-based centers called Economics America. NCEE is also an international economics training initiative called Economics International, which carries our market principles to the world. Through this vital network NCEE carry out their mission with vigor, integrity and demonstrated success.

Mission of NCEE

To help all students develop economic ways of thinking and problem solving that they can use in their lives as consumers, savers, members of the workforce, responsible citizens, and effective participants in the global economy.

NCEE Programs in the Russian Far East 

1997 – N. Vitkovskaya, Director of FECEE finished trainings in Omsk, Moscow, Almaty, Samara, and received NCEE programs trainer certificate 
1998 – V. Makeev (FECEE instructor) and L. Mezhonova (Head of economics department in Dalnegorsk) finished trainings in Bishkek, Almaty, Tashkent 
1999 – A. Shendrik (economics teacher from Dalnegorsk) finished trainings 
1999 – Far East Center of Economic Education received a grant from Eurasia Foundation for conducting a set of seminars for Primorsky Region middle-school teachers of economics. Seminars by NCEE program for teachers of economics were conducted in Artyom and Dalnegorsk (“Microeconomics”) and in Vladivostok (“Macroeconomics”) 
1999 – L. Mezhonova took part in a management and institutional development training for HGO leaders. The training was held in Almaty (Kazakhstan
2000 – N. Vitkovskaya took part in aEconomic Education in Elementary Schoolsseminar in Minsk (Belarus
2000 – N. Vitkovskaya took part in “Situation of Economic Education in Russia and Ukraine. Input of NCEE and Its Partners” 
2000 – “Macroeconomics and International Economyseminar was held in Dalnegorsk 
2000 – N. Vitkovskaya and A. Shendrik were invited as experts toEconomics Basicsseminar for teachers of economics in Novosibirsk
